Summer activities
In summer the Antholz Valley shows its quiet side: flowering meadows, cool forests and clear mountain air, just a few minutes from the Kronplatz holiday region.
Garni Renzler in Oberrasen sits at the entrance to the valley, at the foot of the Rieserferner group (Hochgall, 3,436 m). After breakfast you can set off straight from the house.
Whether a gentle family walk, a summit tour or a bike ride – the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park, Kronplatz and the Dolomites are right on the doorstep.
Ideas for summer days out
Hiking in the nature park
The Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park begins almost on the doorstep: from easy walks to alpine pastures to demanding summit tours, there is something for every level of fitness. For families we recommend the circular trail through the Rasner Möser biotope in Oberrasen.
Cycling and mountain biking
The Puster Valley cycle path runs gently through the valley and suits families and e-bikes too. If you like it sportier, Kronplatz has trails for mountain bikers – from beginner flow lines to downhill runs.

Lake Antholz
At around 44 hectares, Lake Antholz is the third-largest lake in South Tyrol and lies in the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park. The circular walk takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, runs partly over wooden walkways and is suitable for families. The lake is about 15 km from Garni Renzler.
Kronplatz: summit and museums
In summer, too, the cable cars take you up Kronplatz (2,275 m). At the top you will find sweeping views, the Messner Mountain Museum Corones and LUMEN, the museum of mountain photography. The valley station is only 5 km from Garni Renzler.
